Inferi are back with a re-record of ‘Forged in the Phlegethon’

Melodic tech death behemoths Inferi release the first single from their soon to be released re-record of 2009’s ‘The End of An Era’. Having spent most of 2018 on the road in support of their masterwork of metal entitled ‘Revenant’, the band are proud to announce that their recording of the bands second full-length album will be released on the 12th of April.

Newly refined with a few Inferi embellishments ‘The End of An Era | Rebirth’ is a full band re-record performed by the band’s current lineup. As Inferi explain, the addition to the title is intended to symbolize not only the bands internal growth, but to also point to the fact that this version of the release is a bigger and better version that sports a refined bass tone and improved presence of the drums. Importantly, for fans of the original, the band are keen to keep the material as close to as it was as possible albeit with a more robust production and two changes in the guest that feature on the album.

Far from dismissing their previous work, the band are keen to impress on the reader that the original recording of ‘The End of An Era’ is still an album that the band is proud of. And precisely because of the fact, the band believes that the album deserves more that it currently has. Connecting the old with the new, ‘The End of An Era| Rebirth’ bridges the bands initial solid melodic death metal background with the bands advanced technicality that they have used to build albums from 2014’s ‘The Path of Apotheosis’ onwards.

Excited about the prospect of the recording the album, guitarist Malcom Pugh released the following, ‘I’m really excited to finally see this project fleshed out. I have yearned to re-record this album for almost a decade now and I’m glad it happened with the strongest line-up the band has ever had. I think the older fans will be able to appreciate what we have done with the record and new fans will get a new view of the band with a wider perspective if they’ve never gone back to check out our older albums. We are all very excited, now it is time to hit the road!’
