Virginia death-grind unit Applaud The Impaler return with ‘Trenchrot’ ahead of the release of their new album ‘Ov Apocalypse Incarnate’. Set for release on the 29th of March, ‘Ov Apocalypse Incarnate’ will be the band’s first full length studio album to follow their initial EP released back in 2010. Long overdue and demanded by many, ‘Ov Apocalypse Incarnate’ is forceful return to scene with 12 tracks of brutal devastation hell bend on delivering on the crushing promises laid down by their 2010 EP entitled ‘Anthropophagi’.

Recorded, mixed and mastered at Knoxville’s The Sound Lair by Miah Lajeunesse of Whitechapel and Aegaeon fame, the band dropped the following message. ‘We come to mosh up the plaaaace! You know we always bring the heat to the party, but here’s some gotdayum mashed potatoes for your shindig as well … Get pumped- we are - tell your friends about us and let them know Applaud is back’.

In speaking of the new single, guitarist Corey Millett shared that, ‘’Trenchrot’ is the first single from our long awaited album release, Ov Apocalypse Incarnate. ‘Trenchrot’ is a song tributed to my great grandfather – a WW2 veteran – and is based off of a true story he once told me with his experience in battle. When I wrote the music and lyrics to this song I wanted to encapsulate a tone themed from the battlegrounds of war, and I wanted to capture the vision and point of view of an incapacitated war survivor through the lyrics.’

Continuing, ‘‘Trenchrot’ is the third track on our album and features Julien Deyres of the almighty Gorod! Zack and Julien channeled in a ruthless lyrical presentation to represent this monstrosity – completely opposite of one another but undoubtedly the salt and pepper to this plate of carnage. Zack’s cavernous roars and guttural persecution was impeccably balanced with Julien’s merciless mid-range assault at breakneck speed. In fact, Julien informed us that this is the fastest lyrical passage that he’s done in his career. We are truly excited to have bridged together and incorporated his style of vocal composition within this song and are extremely grateful to have him land an annihilating verse on our first single.’
