I consider my life worth
nothing to me if only I may finish
the race and complete the task the
Lord
Jesus has given me.
The task of testifying to the
Gospel of
God's grace.
Now I know that none of you whom
I have gone about preaching the
Kingdom will ever see me again.
Therefore I declare to you that I am innocent
of the blood of all men for I have not hesitated
to proclaim the whole will of
God.
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock to which the
Holy
Spirit has made you overseers.
Be shepherds of the church, of
God, which
He bought with
His own blood. I know that when I leave savage
wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
Even from your own number men will arise and
distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.
So be on your guard.
We are not the wolves at the gate, we are the ones who face them.
Death awaits us all as we walk this path
Though different endings, in His light or in His wrath
We never know what awaits
For every loved one lost I see the pain in every heart
And still we all must pay the cost our sin has kept us apart
So you've got the world
Gripping your life in your hands
Taking for granted the breath in your lungs
But death has a voice
Singing to us "Make your stand!"
Death is ever certain we all share this fate
I watched you go away (Know it was coming)
Vanished and we didn't know it (We didn't know it)
I sat and watched and prayed (We didn't know it)
God has called your name (We didn't know it)
In death we see that we are just as vapors
And life has become what we all do savor
When all is lost and taken away
Endless nights to weep and pray
We're letting it all out and it feels so quiet
For every loved one lost I see the pain in every heart
And still we all must pay the cost our sin has kept us apart
Still in these bodies feeling fragile with the same fate
Never knowing if our time fills or death awaits
While our hearts are pounding inside we'll fight and not break
To my King I will confide my everything
In death we see that we are just as vapors
And life has become what we all do savor
When all is lost and taken away
Endless nights to weep and pray
We're letting it all out and it feels so quiet
Still I'll walk Your path for You write my story
And I'll count the days till I see Your glory
Still I'll walk Your path for You write my story
And I'll count the days till I see Your glory
You will clothe us in spotless white
I'll sing to Your glories, what a beautiful sight
A host of saints and all the angels
With no constraints and nothing painful
We'll sing these songs and You will listen
In the Book of Life our names are written
Check my pulse, am I still breathing?
Will You grasp my wrist and hold it dear to, to Your heart?
To see if I am beating for You and only You my Father
How we live and fight is who we are
"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
"Who you are is all from Me"
I'm leaving behind the things of this world
"Follow me my son and let the dead bury their own"
So test me oh Lord, examine my soul
"Follow me my son for what you reap you will have sown"
Give light to my eyes to see Your glory
divine and break through these skies
Hear me when I cry to see Your grace come
down and purge these dead, these dead lives
"Have I not given you a spirit of power and love?"
I will live to fight for these dead lives
"Have I not given you a spirit of power and love?"
How we live and fight is who we are
And as You dwell inside my heart, You're burning a fire that's growing
So when I feel the warmth subside rekindle the embers that's burning
Check my pulse, am I still breathing?
Will You grasp my wrist and hold it dear to, to Your heart?
To see if I am beating for You
A herald I am
"A mirror to Me"
For sin is destroyed
"You've been set free"
How we live the fight is who we are
"Who you are is all from Me"
"You will suffer but my strength is enough"
(Still send me)
"Though You will suffer your strength is in Me"
(Still send me)
Tonight my son,
be still and sleep while storms are crashing
On this deep we drop the anchor with the hope
This vessel holds us still
Oh Great Captain, You navigate the storm
My son be still and sleep while storms are crashing
Oh Great Captain, You navigate the storm
An angry water surges the waves have taken its toll
While this ship submerges on my tempest soul
And though we've weathered the storm
You know the next one could be much stronger
And I can see the shoreline
Is a mirage or a sign?
I can feel the anchor fast as I meet each sudden blast
And the cable though unseen bears the heavy strain between
Each storm I safely ride until the turning of the tide
As I meet each sudden blast
We drop the anchor with the hope we won't set sail into the storm
We set the sails and tie the rope tonight my son, be still and sleep
My anchor holds until this tempest calms and dies
For this squall's the throne to which He rides
Still this faith will last the waves demise
All these purging skies will never see my end
We drop the anchor with the hope we won't set sail into the storm
We set the sails and tie the rope tonight my son, be still and sleep
As the waves crash over and over
You are my anchor
Every gale I meet
The plight of all the seas can't separate me
For all I have is Yours
Fight the good fight, attempt for the brave
This trek for the lost has brought some to the grave
Bathed in the fire for you hope water's pure
The flames will grow higher it's taste is your cure
I do not fear the world's fire for it burns for a moment
And though it sears my skin I rest for it shall relent
With the world at your feet and the fire on your back
It has nothing to give me for You've claimed my soul
No sacrifice could be too great
Some think I've lost my mind abandoned sanity
To speak of truth to find a saving clarity
For it will cost my/your life
Forsaking comfort and ease
We'll trade it all for a heart with no rival
You will be met with strife
And make you fall to your knees
We'll trade it all for a heart with no rival
Throw all your hate and your wrath into the fire
Cast all your pain and your fear unto the graces
Of our God and King for the evil will attack
Suffer for His love
You with the world at your feet and fire on your back
For the God above
No sacrifice could be too great
To fight the good fight, you know you must be brave
This trek for the lost to save
Eighteen years I have served the Lord
And He has never let me down
For it will cost my/your life
Forsaking comfort and ease
We'll trade it all for a heart with no rival
You will be met with strife
And make you fall to your knees
We'll trade it all for a heart with no rival
Expect the suffering and invite all the pain
Lord you have changed me and I am not the same
Expect the suffering and invite all the pain
Lord you have changed me and I am not the same
Lord you have changed me and I am not the same BURN!
Oh the depths of riches,
like the water that fills the earth
The knowledge of my Creator who gives me worth
And though I crave to know all of the patterns of this world
Is endless for it's beyond tracing out
So from as far as I've seen there is a great hoard against me
Because I am a man sights see targets on my back
For all our hearts are not clean and the archers fire freely
Because I am a man sights see targets
For every knee will bow and every tongue confess
That you are God! For you are God!
His image bears the sight of the unseen King
His name is ever pleasing for this we do sing
Father of grace and mercy has poured out His wrath
Forever Your name proclaims!
The Father of grace and mercy has poured out His wrath completely
On His Son for our sake we are free who brought the Lamb to slaughter
Oh the depths of riches, like the water that fills the earth
The knowledge of my Creator who gives me worth
I have not a gift to bring for all things are from Him and glory forever
But as their arrows are drawn there is refuge in view
Now don't get me wrong I am the least of these
I have no knowledge to give or power to seize
I have not a gift or a planned endeavor
For all things are from Him and glory forever
There is love! Here is love! This is love! There is love!
Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar?
Have they not been made such a fool in their squalor?
For they desired a sign and sought for the wise
When the precursor of life was right in front of their eyes
Oh death, oh death
Has lost its sting on me
Oh death, oh death
You've been forever conquered
The Father of grace and mercy has poured out His wrath completely
On His Son for our sake we are free who brought the Lamb to slaughter for me
There is love! Here is love! This is love! There is love!
The Father of grace and mercy has poured out His wrath completely
On His Son for our sake we are free who brought the Lamb to slaughter for me
The Father of grace and mercy has poured out His wrath completely
On His Son for our sake we are free who brought the Lamb to slaughter
The valley is wide and the canyons are deep
For a harvest is ready of that which to reap
Many before grabbed a sickle to shear
But their days have past and your time is near
So listen to me
And heed my words see
The world will tell you
That we are foolish
My words are not of simple flesh and blood
My words are not of simple flesh and blood
There is a famine of truth and love
So we must press forward, forget what's behind
But still we must go and advance His Word
But still we must go
We must go now!
We must go now!
No looking back we press on
No looking back we press on to the kingdom of God
Have our hands worked the fields for Your glory?
Or have our tongues spoken of Your story?
Have our feet seen the pain in the labor?
Or have we wandered off and wavered?
Racing the clock with our selfish involvement
Pacing our walk till the sun falls, the day's spent
Have the stalks seen the blade of your sheer?
And will you labor and work for your rest, rest is near?
If only I can see things through Your eyes
Ignite in me a burning flame
Forsaken life I count it as loss for the sake of the cross
Before the sun goes down
Before the coming of night
One will have I, and testament I will observe
One will have I, and testament I will
I will serve
Have our hearts felt the anguish of toil?
Or worked the ground tiling broken soil?
Have our eyes seen the joy in the reaping?
Or have we shied from our work with our sleeping?
Racing the clock with our selfish involvement
Pacing our walk till the sun falls, the day's spent
Have the stalks seen the blade of your sheer?
And will you labor and work for your rest, rest is near?
If only I can see things through Your eyes
Ignite in me a burning flame
Forsaken life I count it as loss for the sake of the cross
Before the sun goes down
My family as one unite
The time is ever nearing as we're losing daylight
So listen to me and heed my words see
The world will tell you that we are foolish
Hear you now the Master's voice it calls
Hear you now the Master's voice it calls
"The harvest is plenty, the workers are few!"
Who's shut the mouths of beasts
And with the sound of his voice it renders peace?
Who's drowned the earth with rain
And made a promise to man to never do the same?
Who's crushed the walls of stone
By the use of the sound of the trumpets blown?
Who appoints the kings to throne?
The One True King!
Who's quenched a violent fire?
Raised and destroyed empires?
Oh how you manifest your grace and power
My Great King!
You're my Great King
My Great King!
You're my Great King
How can I question Your power?
For where was I when You laid the earth
In that time and hour?
How can I question Your might
When even angels bow down to you
To kneel at your sight?
When men cast their doubt upon Your name
You are unchanging
Still the immutable
When nations rage against Your throne
You are unchanging
Still the immutable God
Awake my soul
Give me eyes to see
The King exalted
Deserving and worthy
Awake my soul
Give me words to say
Among the nations
Proclaiming Your glory
Awake my soul
Awake my soul
Oh how You've proven
That there in no one
Like You
Ever faithful
To such faithless men
Like us
Awake my soul
Awake my soul
Oh how you've shown me
That this isn't a blind faith
In a distant God
You went before me and You
Bore my sin
Who am I to doubt You?
Let me hear Your voice
My ears have heard You
Let me see Your face
My eyes have seen You
For I believe
For I, I believe
Great is They faithfulness
O' God my Father and King
There is no shadowy presence
To Your promise I cling
Thou changest not Thy compassions
As Thou hast been
Thou forever and ever will be
When men cast their doubt upon Your name
You are unchanging
Still the immutable God
When nations rage against Your throne
You are unchanging
Still the immutable God
Awake my soul
Give me eyes to see
The King exalted
Deserving and worthy
Awake my soul
Give me words to speak
Among the nations
Proclaiming Your glory
Oh how you've shown me
That this isn't a blind faith
In a distant God
You went before me and You
Bore my sin
I believe
Awake my soul
I believe
My faithful King
For I believe
I can see the end in sight as
we pacify our itching ears
Quickly we are trending light and absolving self of all eternal fears
Until our conscious clears
Hear this voice engage the fight as
I pound my chest still knowing my end nears
Still knowing my end nears
The sun is burning out and your rule is left, your rule is left in doubt
We'll sing, and scream, and shout "For You have won, You have won the bout!"
The earth is screaming against its bondage of decay
Creation eager for the coming new day
My lungs are breathing stealing every single breath
Not my soul, but my body is put to death
For if heaven's not your cry, you're still afraid to die
I'll tell you now your end is not far
The sun is burning out and with all creation shout
Enter in the bright Morning Star
I know this is a voyage, it's not my destination
I know this is a voyage, it's not my destination
Not waiting for no dying sun, or watching for a fading moon
No shooting star has caught my eye
Nothing in my hand
Still there is nothing in my hand I bring
Only to the cross
For only to the cross my arms will cling
Only to the cross
Nothing in my hand that I will bring, there is nothing in my hand
For if heaven's not your cry, you're still afraid to die
I'll tell you now the end is not far
The sun is burning out and with all creation shout
Enter in the bright Morning Star
I can see the coming light as the nights
will pass and the dawn it clears
Screaming out with all my might for the Morning Star,
the Morning Star He nears
I see a new day is coming
I see a new day is near
I was once a dead man
A stranger with no home
I stood opposed to God himself
And yet He pardoned me
With all my heart and the fiercest will
Desired not but to thieve and kill
I hadn't a thought of peace, but war
Surrender was not what I'd endure
I was a murderer filled with lies and deceit
Faced with my list of crimes that I would always repeat
Deliver me! Wake me up from this damning sleep
I'm surrendering! Pull me out from this wickedness
In this thieving heart of stone
I realized all these sins I could not atone
I was a murderer filled with lies and deceit
Faced with my list of crimes that I would always repeat
I was once a dead man
A stranger with no home
I stood opposed to God himself
And yet He pardoned me
So just at the right time when we were dead in our sins
You took this heart of mine and gave me life again
You gave me life again
This is where I begin
So far apart and a debt to fulfill
This purchase bought on redemption's hill
An ailing disease I couldn't cure
Oh this grace! How rich and pure!
Abide in me, my God! I am found in You
Pardon me, my God! You know my deepest thoughts
Deliver me from sin! I am made anew
I'm surrendering this heart! For which your blood it bought
The mob they yelled and screamed for justice
That wrath was ours we are to blame
You made a spectacle of rulers
Denying You of a king's fame
Having crushed the written cannon
That wrote of all our guilt and shame
Displayed upon the tree it was nailed
The saving power of Your name
For I was once a dead man
A stranger with no home
You saw this wretch
And You gave him life
Forever I'll praise You!
I will praise You!
A selfish man, a wretch I do stand,
just as you we are the same
But how is it that justice follows in Your wake and grace remains?
And grace remains? Your grace remains! Still grace remains!
This is justice for my wickedness with your Son descending
Onto this world bearing our sin
We're helpless in need of Your grace
This freedom is not in our hands
Still Your grace remains
It was not nails that kept You there on that tree
It was not thorns that caused You your pain (fully)
For it was my sin, it was Your burden
It was my sin, it was Your love for me
It was not nails that kept You there on that tree
It was not thorns that caused You your pain (fully)
For it was my sin, it was Your burden
It was my sin, it was Your love for me
Then at the cross You bore my sin
And as You bled You thought of me
And still these bones will cry
Who am I that you would give Your life and die for me?
Not just a myth and not just a story
Becoming my sin and all for His glory
Not just a martyr, not just a saint
He's risen, alive
Death had no restraint!
Bride, arise! And lift up His holy name
Oh yea bride, arise! And life up His name
I saw these chains locked on my wrists
Around my neck no shackles missed
I'd tried to shake them off and flee
Nowhere to go without a key
Awoke my eyes drew the first breath
New to the world but not to death
This plan devised in secrecy
May take my life or set me free
No more to work this simple life
To toil only met with strife
The evening still and passed the sun
The night crept in my chance to run
I wait for dark!
I wait for dark!
I wait for dark!
No looking back I'm running
I'm running out of sight
I wait for dark!
No looking back I'm running
Running into the night
I wait for dark!
My feet be quick for this racing heart
Come morning's light will the chasing start
With the fear of pursuit comes a fear of the flight
And if I stop they will shoot so I continue to hide
In the cover of the night
The morning bright all darkness gone
I see the distance fade
I take to flight my fears withdraw
My heart is now betrayed
Not a slave to man anymore!
Not a slave to...
Set me free
Set me free
Hammer these chains and
Set me free!
Break these chains
Break these chains
Unbind my hands and
Pardon me!
Ran all this way with the hope this pain would
Now release
Finally cease
What is this freedom if I haven't
Haven't peace
Haven't peace?
Serpent you lied and told me to run
I haven't found repose for I still am undone
This isn't life!
This can't be it!
I've run so far away yet
None of the pieces will fit
I couldn't see
I should have known
This peace abounds at my master's home
Now my heart be still or these feet will fall
All for the will of the master's call
The morning bright all darkness gone
And not afraid
Shown the true light against the dawn
My debt has now been paid
I was lost to save
For I'm the master's slave
For I was lost to save
No looking back I'm running
Running with all my might
No looking back I'm running
Running to the true light
I saw these chains fall to my feet
I stand amazed at this work complete
These chains not Yours, they were my own
"Now run no more My son, come home"
Step out to the water and you'll
see what I believe
Come out to the water and you'll see of whom I sing
For the seas are raging and the ocean grows
I see your arms are flailing as your panic shows
Look beyond the waves to the One who saves
Still this storm is waging with its fiercest blows
For your knees are shaking at your darkest woes
Look beyond the waves to the One who saves
So just as You have given grace to me
I'm pleading Father that their eyes will see
The clearest vision of Your love shown on Calvary
For redemption's story's in my heart may be seen through me
For the seas were raging as the ocean rose
These very bones are aching and my voice it grows
"Call out to God! Call out to God!"
The only hope is found in Him
"Cry out to God!"
Look to the One who calms the seas
His very words cause the storm to seize
I'm calling out, I'm crying out
So as You've given grace to me
Please Father give them eyes to see
Your blood, our sins. It did atone
Without You Lord I'm a sinking stone
I see your body sinking slow
And yet you still fight on your own
How long you'll last I still don't know
Don't you know you're not alone
Step out to the water and you'll see He won't deceive
Come out to the water and you'll see what trust can bring
Cry out to God!
For the seas are raging and the ocean grows
I see your arms are flailing as your panic shows
Look beyond the waves to the One who saves
So just as You have given grace to me
I'm pleading Father that their eyes will see
The clearest vision of Your love shown on Calvary
For redemption's story's in my heart may be seen through me
Step out to the water those with faith can receive
Come out to the water and you'll see the risen King
"Doctor! Doctor! Check all the vitals
This tragedy struck is done and it's final
Don't you, don't you know it's been said?
You can be alive while already dead"
Once laid in darkness with no plan devised
The slightest glimpse of light would burn my eyes
I feel the life His wounds impart
Oh how much grace You've afforded to me!
Of a burden lifted from my heart
How many graces been given and free?
My chains fell off, my heart was free
Arose went forth and followed Thee
I was a slave to sin with wrists bound by steel
It was an open wound from which I could not heal
So dull I couldn't feel; Your fangs had caught my heel
Those lies they did conceal; the truth my God reveals
Hell is an open grave, my sin was pushing me in
Helpless you heard my cries
You are the hand to save, dove in You're pulling me out
Rescued from my demise
I feel the life His wounds impart
Oh how much grace You've afforded to me!
Of a burden lifted from my heart
How many graces been given and free?
My chains fell off, my heart was free
Arose went forth and followed Thee
I was a slave to sin with wrists bound by steel
It was an open wound from which I could not heal
So dull I couldn't feel; Your fangs had caught my heel
Those lies they did conceal; the truth my God reveals
Long had my soul been prison bound
Awaiting till the death march sounds
My chains fell off, my heart was free
Arose went forth and followed Thee
I feel the life His wounds impart
No longer prisoned I'll lay
I feel the Savior in my heart
Nothing will take that away
Nothing will take that away
Nothing will take that away
Nothing will take that away
Nothing will take that away
Take that away
I bow before the throne of amnesty
My sins are washed away, how can it be?
You rule with grace and love to show mercy
To show mercy
To show mercy
Oh how much grace You've afforded to me!
These eyes have seen the joys yet suffered
Mind and body
Though still I'll sing
"How Great Thou Art"
Calm my heart
And give me
Still peace
Within my very soul
These eyes have seen the joys yet suffered
Mind and body
Though still I'll sing
"How Great Thou Art"
When strength turns
To crippled
I've learned to silence the world and listen
Blood staining
Your footprints
For surely You went before this son
Through all the chaos
And noise I've learned
I've learned to silence
The world and listen
Still I'm singing of
How Great You Are
For surely You went before this son
When safeguards
Turn captors
The haven never been seen so clearly
My constant
Delivers
All the surety that He hears me
How can I
Repay You
Lord for
This all-forgiving love?
For it's the sight of Christ upon the tree
That surely
Will always still
And humble me
Guard my heart
And give me peace
Within my soul
Within my soul
How can I
Repay You Lord
For this bounty of love?
This bounty of love?
How can I
Repay You Lord
How can I
Repay You Lord
You will not abandon me
When this body sees decay
Grace and peace has made a home
In this heart that it will stay
It will stay
You will not abandon me
When this body sees decay
Grace and peace has made a home
In this heart that it will stay
It will stay
You will not abandon me
It will stay
When this body sees decay
It will stay
Grace and peace has made a home
It will stay
In this heart that it will stay
For when my safeguards turn to captors
For when my safeguards turn to captors
It will stay
For when my safeguards turn to captors
For when my safeguards turn to captors
Whoa-o-o-o
've seen the road and it's snares
I bore the load though it wears
I've heard your curses and taunts and still it won't stop me
I've heard your curses and slights and yet it won't stop me
Slept through the coldest of nights and still it won't stop me
From ever calling You "king"
Or hide the Gospel we bring
It's burning bright in my eyes
Come grow, come grow and light up the skies
We're hungry, tired, and sick
Faced with resistance on every end (in You we hide)
I've felt the scorn you inflict
Attack this mission I will defend
Still onward we will ride
We will ride
Onward we will ride
Forward with no end in sight
In You we shall hide
Our hope is found in the light
Tonight I rest, I rest in peace
Your will is greater than mine
And I haven't a thirst for wealth or man's empty praise
For the glory is Thine
And I haven't a want of fame in this world to claim at all
We will ride
We will face the world
We will ride
We will face the world
We're dirty, restless, and sore
But count it joy to be found worthy (against this test)
Endless assaults to endure
Upon our bodies with no worry
For one day I'll have rest
I've seen the road and it's snares
I bore the load though it wears
I've heard your curses and taunts and yet it won't stop me
And yet it won't stop me
Tonight I rest, I rest in peace
Your will is greater than mine
And I haven't a thirst for wealth or man's empty praise
For the glory is Thine
And I haven't a want of fame in this world to claim
When the vile take aim on my flesh I'll call Your name
I've seen the road and it won't stop me
With Your strength bestowed upon me freely
And Your grace has flowed in us completely
Now let us cut through the night so that in me they would see light
I've seen the road and it won't stop me
No end in sight as far as I see
And I'll bear the weight of the victim
Onward we ride till kingdom come
I've seen the road and it won't stop me
No end in sight as far as I see
Blistered feet, bloodied alone
Walked the streets a man unknown
Battered face as He adorns
A mocker's robe, a crown of thorns
A tree designed for His demise
Cursed, maligned by guilty cries
The nails and hammer they did meet
Two in the hands, one in the feet
Risen up, put on display
For a guilty mob to scream and say
"Crucify! Crucify!"
The people yelled to crucify
"He must die! He must die!"
Without a fight He did comply
I do not know the pain you felt
Or lowly service as You knelt
Down before such lowly men You served (and washed their feet)
Who is this man they sent to die?
Many still could not reply
Betrayed and sold by His very own (with a kiss)
He met the needs of thousands fed
Healed the sick and raised the dead
"My God! My God!" The man did say
"Have you forsaken me this day?"
Bleeding, dying; words were few
"Forgive them Lord for what they do"
Gasping breath they heard Him say
"It is finished!"
Laid below the ground You knew it couldn't hold You
They thought that You were bound by nature's laws
He is risen! He is risen!
For the veil that was torn in two and the darkness that would ensue
A symbol alas that the debt was finally paid
When the stone was rolled away, He was no longer where He lay
Surely our King had risen from the dead
On and on and on we're singing
Singing out for all to hear us
This is not a simple story
Our lives are for Your glory
Beyond my words and written pages
Your song across the ages
I don't know about you
I long for a place to place my hands
So that all of my guilt would be transferred away
And that He would drive that far from me
I... I need that
I want that
Do you?
Oh for a place
Oh for a refuge
He's willing to do that
All of your guilt and all of the wrath of
God against you is transferred to Him
and then He goes and bears it away
When Jesus, the Lamb of God dies
Sins are taken away and wrath is removed
He is the propitiation for our sins
And not for ours only
But also for the sins of the whole world
Wake up! Wake up!
The wolves are biting.
The wolves are clawing and snatching up the sheep.
For if we speak without the truth upon our lips,
We're giving in and we’re falling fast asleep.
Creating more prodigals.
More jaded and worn.
Creating more prodigals.
More jaded and worn.
We organize and strategize.
Yet we're keeping our mouths shut.
(Keeping our mouths shut)
For we are actors without action,
When the cost factors no reaction.
We hide under roof and steeple,
'Cus we're afraid of broken people.
The wolves are biting,
The wolves are clawing and snatching up the sheep.
For if we speak without the truth upon our lips,
We're giving in and we’re falling fast asleep.
Wake up! Wake up!
So if faith comes by hearing,
Why not speaking by preaching?
Though my fear is the half truths
That the many are teaching.
The world is lining you up and bids you to come,
To live on the edge till your heart it is numb.
Lining you up and bids you farewell,
To look like the righteous but still live like hell.
Are we fighting?
Are we fighting or are we asleep?
Are we dying?
Are we dying to aid the sheep?
We compromise in our own eyes,
Yet we're keeping our mouths shut.
(Keeping our mouths shut)
For we are actors without action,
When the cost factors no reaction.
We hide under roof and steeple,
'Cus we're afraid of broken people.
The wolves are biting,
The wolves are clawing and snatching up the sheep.
For if we speak without the truth upon our lips,
We're giving in and we’re falling fast asleep.
So are we crying?
So are we crying to all the lost and dead?
Behold! The lamb of God who takes away
The sins of the whole world by his blood shed.
Making straight the way,
The way of the Lord.
Making straight the way,
The way of the Lord.
“All of your guilt and all of the wrath of God against
you is transferred to Him and he legally bears it away.
Do you believe that Jesus Christ really is willing?
That you have a sin bearer that takes away all sin,
past, present and future!”
What will you gain?
What will you earn?
What is your claim?
From dust we come
And dust we return.
If I loved wealth
I'd find the root of evil.
If I lust for power
I'd lose my soul.
If I sought fame
I'd be a thief
Of all Your Honor
Honor, Glory, and Praise.
Hollow and hopeless and cold
Is value in fame and in gold.
The truest of treasures
Is to be found within His fold.
Oh how lost I would be
If my faith unwound.
(And I lost the Lord)
Oh how empty my soul
Would ever be found.
(If I gained the world)
If you're seeking after treasures
Designed by human hands
You'll come and find to realize
Your soul it demands.
If I loved wealth
I'd find the root of evil.
If I lust for power
I'd lose my soul.
If I sought fame
I'd be a thief
Of all Your Honor
Honor, Glory, and Praise.
What is your wealth?
What is your fame?
What is your goal?
If you gain the world
But lose your soul?
Oh how lost I would be
If my faith unwound.
(And I lost the Lord)
Oh how empty my soul
Would ever be found.
(If I gained the world)
The joy in knowing
I'm blood bought by the King.
My truest treasure is
I'll know my King!
Know my King!
If the answer is found within yourself
Then who has made the key?
Then tell me who could ever hide such truth
If not for you and me?
Now if you ever found this key inside,
Inside your very soul.
What would there ever to be found at all
Besides a gaping hole?
Return!
Return! Repent!
Return! Restore!
Return all you thirsty.
Come all who hunger.
See that our God is good.
Scream until you faint
At all of the stars and planets and sky.
They haven’t a mouth
Haven’t a mouth to speak.
Even if the earth could shout out,
Make a reply, it would tell you all to return.
Return, restore and seek.
Open up your eyes.
The light may blind,
But brings relief.
With patience and grace.
Patience and grace.
Bids all to come and
Return!
Return all you thirsty.
Come all who hunger.
Mend what we’ve broken.
Return! Repent! Return! Restore!
Come forth! Repent!
Come forth! Behold!
Just like the blind stumbling in the darkness.
Can’t find light for they walk in blackness.
Can’t find hope living without justice.
Can’t find peace while their hearts are restless.
Just like the blind
Can’t find light
Can’t find hope
Can’t find peace while their hearts are restless.
As you’re slipping down to the floor
While you’re reaching and crying out,
Crying out for someone to just hear a sound.
As you’re slipping down to the floor,
While you’re falling you’ll hear me shout
“Seek Him while He, Seek Him while He may be found.”
Open up your eyes.
The light may blind,
But brings relief.
With patience and grace.
Patience and grace.
Bids all to come and
Return!
Return all you thirsty.
Come all who hunger.
Come and see that He is
He is full of grace.
Abounding in love.
Slow to anger.
Surely good to all.
For we do not have a God who cannot
sympathize with our weaknesses
But One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of Grace
So we may receive mercy and find help.
All who are burdened and seeking respite,
All of the hopeless, wretched, and desperate.
All who are worn out, and feeling oppressed.
Come in and find your rest.
We've seen your scars.
As it has captured like, like prison bars.
Bitter and sharp it runs down, runs down your skin.
It doesn't ease it hides, hides wounds within.
We aren't deaf we've heard, we've heard your plight.
As dark as night.
In pain you've cried,
That "Hope has died."
I know that you're guarded,
I've been there before.
Sin is crouched at your door.
Come find your rest.
I've traded all of my sin I once counted
worth for healed wounds and rebirth.
All who are burdened and seeking respite,
All of the hopeless, wretched, and desperate.
All who are worn out, and feeling oppressed.
Come in and find your rest.
Come in and trade your tears.
All worry and ease your fears.
Your burden is not unknown.
Don't run friend you're not alone.
For we do not have a God who cannot
sympathize with our weaknesses
But One who has been tempted in
all things as we are, yet without sin.
Therefore let us draw near with
confidence to the throne of Grace
So we may receive mercy and find help.
For all confined come be set free.
For all the blind that long to see.
Come and receive the perfect relief.
Come and believe He bore your grief.
Rise up as the war has ceased.
No bondage you have been released.
(Come all you weak and contrite.
He'll strengthen and clothe you in white.)
The morning is coming with a hunger to feed.
I’ll do what I’ve got to get the taste that I need.
Minute by minute and hour by hour.
I’ll feed this pit with what I find and all I can scour.
Give me a feather and I’ll trade you my friend.
It’s just a single feather dear, it won’t be the end.
Watch and you’ll learn young one, I’m not what you think.
I’ll give you all you’d ever want, to eat and to drink.
It’s too far to run. It’s too hard to fly.
There’s got to be a better way
It’s too far to run. It’s too hard to fly.
A feather’s small to give away.
One was the deal before but now I want three.
So if you want to get your fix you’ll have to agree.
Don’t you fret now, don’t you fear, you’ve still got much to give.
I’ll keep my word if you keep yours; you still need me to live.
I’m too slow to run.
I’m too weak to fly.
(I’m too slow to run)
I’m tired living day by day.
I’m too slow to run.
I’m too weak to fly.
(I’m too slow to run)
How much will I have to pay?
Fool don’t you see, you haven’t a choice.
No one will listen, hear out your voice.
You’re lost and accursed,
(Lost and accursed)
You’re dying of thirst.
(Dying of thirst)
Stop with your fighting, I’m all you’ve got.
None hear your crying, You’re hooked and caught.
Was three, now it’s six.
(Was three, now it’s six.)
Come get your fix.
(Come get your fix.)
I’m too scared to run.
I’m too nerved to fly.
(I’m too scared to run)
I once was friend but now the prey.
I’m too scared to run.
I’m too nerved to fly.
(I’m too scared to run)
Will he save or will he slay?
“Submit yourself to God. Resist the devil and He
will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will
draw near to you. Cleanse your hands,
you sinners, and purify your hearts.”
It’s the last time that you’ll get me.
It’s the last time that you’ll get me.
It’s your last one so now I’m free.
It’s your last one so now I’m free.
“He was a murderer from the beginning. He does
not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him.
Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature,
for he is a liar, the father of lies.”
No! All you’ve brought me is pain and grief.
All you’ve brought me is pain and grief.
No! You deceptive and lying thief.
You deceptive and lying thief.
No! No! No! No!
Thank You my friend, now I’ll say my goodbye.
And as these fangs sink in, you’ll see, I’ll watch as you die.
May my lying down acquaint me with my grave.
From this life it will save.
I know I’m prone to sin, one day I’ll be whole.
These aching bones don’t hold my soul.
Hold my soul. Hold my soul.
These aching bones don’t hold my soul.
Someday I will die.
I’ll rest and leave this body.
Not up in the sky,
Will you ever find me.
Someday I’ll be gone.
I’ll rest and leave this vessel.
But not here, I’m moving on.
In peace will I settle.
Oh, they’ll dig through all of the rock and stone.
With hopes of giving rest to my,
Rest to my skin, my skin and bone.
They may take this absent vessel.
They may take and put it out to sea.
Not the Atlantic or Pacific I’ll be.
I will be. I will be.
May I never lose the heart of the restless.
When my eyes they close in death
And when my body is breathless.
May I never lose the heart of a vagrant.
When I’m buried in the depths
And when my body is vacant.
Someday I will die.
I’ll rest and leave this body.
Not up in the sky
Will you ever find me.
May my lying down acquaint me with my grave.
From this life it will save.
It is appointed once that all will expire.
To their rest or fire.
As your frailty confronts where you will attend.
Heaven or hell’s the final end.
Final end.
(Heaven or hell’s the final end.)
Someday I will die.
I’ll rest and leave this body.
Not up in the sky
Will you ever find me.
Someday I’ll be gone.
I’ll rest and leave this vessel.
But not here, I’m moving on.
I’m pressing toward the gate
And now I’m not afraid.
May I never lose the heart of the restless.
When my eyes they close in death
And when my body is breathless.
May I never lose the heart of a vagrant.
When I’m buried in the depths
And when my body is vacant.
May I never lose the heart of the restless.
We were made for eternity.
On that day when I see my King
and death has lost its sting.
Until then I'm chasing after mysteries.
I'm chasing after you.
Living, you loved me,
Though I fought.
Dying, you saved me,
My soul bought.
Buried, you carried my sins away.
You carried my sins far away.
Carried my sins far away.
As far as the east is stretched from the west.
From east to west.
Suffering, imagine I cannot.
Forgiving, all my sins you forgot.
Rising, you eased our dismay.
You eased me of all my dismay.
On that day when I see my King and death has lost its sting.
Until then I'm chasing after mysteries.
I'm chasing after you.
Carried my sins far away.
As far as the east is stretched from the west.
From east to west.
I'm looking off into the distance
And though it may just be a shadow,
I'm chasing after mysteries to find the joy in knowing Christ.
On that day when I see my King,
Clothed in all of His power, and His love,
I will join the choirs to sing of His mercies and grace.
With all of His beloved.
Knee deep in the swelling
seas without a thought
Or realization of my dying need,
I cannot keep out this grim disease
For it has plagued and overtaken all,
All our dying breed.
Waist deep in the ocean’s sleep
Without a thought or realization of my dying need,
(I cannot) can’t keep what I didn’t reap
For I see justice coming swiftly for,
For every thought and deed.
None had taught.
Such wickedness from the start.
In deed, in thought, my heart was tearing apart.
In vain I fought.
Hoping this pain would depart.
Still no one could tame this wild heart.
Lawless and reckless, my will and my art.
“Flawless” I profess, yet wicked in heart.
Lawless and reckless, my will and my art.
“Flawless” I profess, yet wicked in heart.
A liar, a thief is what had marked my soul.
Thought lying and stealing would make me feel whole.
Neck deep in the water’s grave
Without a thought or realization of my dying need,
(I cannot) can’t keep back the coming wave
For I see it coming swiftly for,
For which I carry and plead.
None had taught.
Such wickedness from the start.
In deed, in thought,
My heart was tearing apart.
In vain I fought.
Hoping this pain would depart.
Still no one could tame this wild heart.
The ocean’s deep and thick
My lungs are filling quick.
I scream and flail and kick.
For my heart is truly sick.
I feel the end is near.
Choked up by waves of fear.
Distant, You seem unclear.
Until the Savior nears.
Cut through the night.
My curse and my plight.
Blinded by light.
Holy in white.
My heart didn’t fight.
My heart didn’t fight.
Crushed by the sight.
Shame had taught.
Of all my sin in disgrace.
In love You sought.
To bring me to Your embrace.
My life was bought.
By God in taking my place.
For none could show
Such mercy, love and grace.
Grace!
My heart didn’t fight.
My words at a loss.
Crushed by the sight.
The sight of the cross.
Fallen, fallen!
Here we stand wrapped up in our crimes.
It’s all of us who are afflicted.
It’s all of us convicted.
All’ve fallen!
All’ve fallen!
The verdict call is “Guilty!”
Here we stand all wrapped up in our crimes.
It is all of us who must surrender.
We’re the culprit and the lone offender
With the gavel striking down upon our crimes.
Upon our crimes.
Upon our crimes.
The guilty running free,
Without a single thought of Your grace.
Erring without a plea,
In our sin, spitting in Your face.
It’s all of us who are afflicted.
It’s all of us convicted.
It is all of us who must surrender.
We’re the culprit and the lone offender,
With the gavel striking down upon our crimes.
Upon our crimes.
Upon our crimes.
Here rise the swelling waves.
Exposed and helpless.
It surely is our graves.
Our hearts in distress
And as the waters caved,
Falling from their slope.
Our lives were truly saved.
And given true hope.
You held back the coming flood
And then You let it fall on Your Son.
This debt was bought with blood
And in Your death our victory won.
Held back the coming flood
And then You let it fall on Your Son.
This debt was bought with blood
And in Your death our victory was won.
You held back the coming flood
(The coming flood)
This debt was bought with blood
(Bought with blood)
It is all of us who must surrender.
We’re the culprit and the lone offender.
It is all of us who must surrender.
We’re the culprit and the lone offender.
With the gavel striking down upon our crimes.
Upon our crimes.
Upon our crimes.
Under that tidal wave of wrath
Our guilty souls stand.
It should have fallen on us all,
But by Your command.
Held back the crashing flood of wrath by Your hand.
We are the ones who are afflicted.
We are the ones who stand convicted.
For all of us You were afflicted.
For all of us You stood convicted.
Though all of us have gone our own way.
Though all of us have left and gone astray.
Left and gone astray.
The Savior restrained.
The King He was chained.
For a people of unclean lips
With our hands blood stained.
For the sake of His glory and love His power abstained
No rebellious cries with only love in His eyes.
He knew our sin meant His demise.
And as he walked in such grace,
In grief He fell on His face.
In light of all that He would embrace.
Distressed.
Until it was complete.
Distressed.
Till death had met defeat.
While never calling retreat
Or even signaled defeat
This work was not yet complete.
Despite the pain that’d ensue,
And of the torment He knew.
His face was set to see it through.
(Set to see it through)
The Savior restrained.
The King He was chained.
For a people of unclean lips
With our hands blood stained.
The Savior restrained.
The King He was chained.
For the sake of His glory and love.
Though all of us have gone our own way.
Though all of us have left and gone astray.
Cast down by wicked plans.
Tortured by our own hands.
Despised, deformed, disgraced.
Forgiving all He faced.
He was distressed until it finished.
The pain endured was not diminished.
Until the vict’ry’s sound and was won.
“Not My will but Yours be done.”
He drank it all, the cup of God’s wrath.
He drank it down to the end.
He drank it all, the cup of God’s wrath.
He drank it down to the bitter end.
You laid our wickedness on His head.
For all we’ve done and all that we’ve said.
He was crushed for our transgressions.
He was pierced for all our sins.
How could Your death mean that I live?
When it’s my life that brought You death?
Oh God I truly give
My beating heart and living breath.
Oh now my son, here is a company of miserable souls
Cold and undone, searing their conscience with hearts black as coals
Here now they lie objects of justice, deserving of wrath
Speak your reply, what shall be done for them? Draw out your path
No one can contain the power and depths of my abundant love
Father, I say, such is my love and my pity for all
There is a way for no condemnation on men to befall
Whoa, such is my love and pity for all
No man can pay, I'll make a way
No man can pay; utterly broke and poor to settle their debt
Though all've gone their way,
I'll yield a way for their sins to forget
Bring in all their sins
Lay it all on me
Bring in all their sins
Every last bill that they owe
Lay it all on me
For what they reap I will sow
The place these souls have found themselves is one of great distress
For even all their righteousness is just a filthy mess
O my son, you must understand that if I show mercy,
you must reckon to pay, the last bit of my rage
For justice reigns upon this throne; perfection without flaw
How can the wicked find their peace and still have broken every law?
Let it be so, charge it on me
For I can bear the weight of sin so all would be free
Bring in all their sins
Every last bill that they owe
Lay it all on me
For what they reap I will sow
Blush oOman, let shame hide your face
For one of infinite worth has left his throne for his death
Which proves for our salvation, oh people hear my cries,
with all our lusts and all our lies,
when the truths come face to face,
did we earn such love and grace?
No we haven't earned a thing,
and there is nothing we can bring,
to settle this age old rift and receive this perfect gift
If only you knew of the grace and love that our God has for all,
you'd turn and look into the face of Jesus the Savior, who calls
Oh people, hear my cries,
with all our lusts and all our lies,
when the truths come face to face,
did we earn such love and grace?
Oh we couldn't earn a thing,
and there is nothing we can bring
So receive this love and grace,
believe his love and grace!
Eyes wide in this reverie
but it's all still dark as night
I'm falling fast asleep
Black tides of my misery coming down upon my sight
I drown into the deep
Is there but a ghost inside these bones?
Come now my darling! Come now beloved, My love it calls you!
Am I just a ghost inside these bones?
Walking as the dead; hearts made of stone
Nightmares of my darkest fears all around crippled with fright
I'm falling fast asleep
Come now my darling! Come now beloved, My love it calls you!
Come away my darling! Come now beloved, My love remains for you!
I'm lost, so long!
The spirit's willing, but the flesh is weak
I hear your song!
My fears are chilling so I dare not speak
For you my blood was spilled
But I made my bed in hell
In you I see no guilt
But you know how far I fell
Oh may it wake you from your sleep
Am I just a ghost inside these bones?
Walking as the dead; hearts made of stone
Hasten up my feet so I may fly
Wash me now my God or I will die
Black tides of my misery coming down upon my sight
Come now my darling! Come now beloved, my love it calls you!
Come away my darling! Come now beloved, My love remains for you!
I'm lost, so long!
The spirit's willing, but the flesh is weak
I hear your song!
My fears are chilling so I dare not speak
Though you know how far I fell
You've saved my soul from hell
Oh, I wanted to see a
fire ablaze in my heart
A flame not full of smoke
I know your love is a fire
Why am I so cold?
My flesh it screams, "You're a liar!"
Those cries are so old
The smoke ascends, the embers dim
Just follow its trail
Help me I'm weak and so frail
I'm waiting for a reaction and the motions in between
I'm looking for You
Every night I watch and wait as my candle's burning out
Every night I scream and shout as my patience turns to doubt
Stay with me, my flickering flame
Stay with me, I know your name
Quit your fight, it's all in vain
When your flame takes flight, it lasts the pouring rain
I'm waiting, flame smoking, and fading out
I'm fading, withering, will I weather?
I'm waiting, sustain me, help me weather
I'm fading, flame smoking, flickering and fading out
Oh, I wanted to feel the fire before mine goes out
A flame so bright it blinds
I'm waiting for a reaction and the motions in between
I'm looking for you, right now
Stay with me flickering flame, I know you're name
Every night I'll watch and wait as my candle's burning out
Every night I'm filled with doubt I will cry to you and shout
Marching alone where I don't belong
Tapping along in the dark before the dawn
Nothing is wrong, you're here
Abandon the sound of the captain's call
Grabbing my gear as I jump the wall before, before nightfall is here
I've crossed the line of the great divide
I heard your orders
I sneak past land mines
Watch them with each stride
I know the borders
Stumbled upon to the battleground
Search and look for the fight but a white flag's all I found
It's all I've found out here
I know, I know you said you've overcome
But I think it's time I joined the fight
Lay down your arms young one
I realize it's hard to see the war is won my son
You must see the war is won over and done
Caught in the snare of the rival's jaws
Digging in deep as it rears it's vicious claws
I guess my fight is here
What have I done? I'm trapped and all alone
I'm bleeding out and fading quick
Footsteps draw near (Could this be it?)
Is my death now here (Could this be it?)
Who's this that's come for me in this dying and desperate state?
Lay down your arms young one
I realize it's hard to see the war is won my son
You must see the war is won over and done
Over and done!
Done!
Rough hands are placed upon me
I'm far too weak to fight and break myself free
I was chasing apparitions
What's wrong with my volition?
Just as my body floated
I dread and fear what is this stranger's motives?
What have I done?
I opened up my eyes to see the stranger bore a dear old face
And water filled my eyes, it was my captain that I had disgraced
I turned to look away in shame
But in tender words you called my name
"See I bear the marks that fought the war!"
Lay down your arms young one
I realize it's hard to see the war is won my son
You must see the war is won over and done
Over and done! Yeah!
I'm lying barren in my own blood
It's drowning me like a rushing flood
A wave of crimson eclipse my eyes
No sign of pity here
My lips are silenced with blistering
The utter silence is deafening
Vultures fly above
They're calling out my name
The vipers watch below
Taunting my crippled frame
Desolate is love
Surely a curse and my name
The same, a plague is all I know
The lover I had claimed has sent me out here to die
Ashes for beauty and shame my ally
The lover I had claimed has left me here to die
The wings of death black out the sky
Isolated in deserted lands
Isolated in deserted lands
Suffocating under dirt and sand
Cursed, despised, I am anathema!
Cursed, despised, I am anathema!
Glory speak to me
Call upon my name
Tell my soul to live, to live
Grant to me the life only your hands can give
I take a breath as I try to shout
I go to scream but no words come out
No shred of solace I'm left to die
No sign of pity here
My lips are silenced with blistering
The utter silence is deafening
The lover that I had claimed has sent me out here to die
Ashes for beauty and shame my only ally
The lover that I had claimed has left me out here to die
Ashes for beauty and shame my only ally
Vultures fly above
They're calling out my name
The vipers watch below
Taunting my crippled frame
Desolate is love
Surely a curse and my name
The same – a plague is all I know
Oh rising sun, won't you dawn on me
Descend just like a dove
Oh rising sun hear this sullen plea
Hide me, hide me in your love
Glory speak to me
Call upon my name
Tell my soul to live, to live
Grant to me the life
Isolated in deserted lands
Isolated in deserted lands
Suffocating under dirt and sand
Cursed was I and surely left to die
But glory became my anathema
Bold sounds rise upwards
Cold words thunder
Oh how I cried aloud
Though no one heard a sound
How I was locked and chained
But none could see me bound
For I spoke of peace
But I dreamt of war
Secrets have a voice
Screaming without breath
My heart speaks of its choice
Calling for my death
Mountains take flight, rain down from above
Shadows and night aren't dark enough
Rocks and hills, cover me!
Rocks and hills, hide me from your face!
Rocks and hills, hide me!
I claimed to be rich
Truly, I was poor
Secrets have a voice
Screaming without breath
My heart speaks of its choice
Calling for my death
Choosing my own path
Shrouded treachery
Ignore the aftermath, living carelessly
Tempting you to wrath with infidelity
So where's the fire? Where's the flood?
These guilty hands are covered in blood
Shouldn't I die, shouldn't I die, when your laws I deny?
Earth heeds not my cries
Mercy come or I die
You speak with your own voice
"Come be not afraid
Weep no more rejoice
Punishment is paid?"
I feared the one who bears all sin
Will you take me in father?
Cover me with your blood!
Cover me with your blood!
Cover me!
here is a fountain filled with
blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away
With all my guilty stains
Wash all my sins away
Wash all my sins away
Wash all my sins away
Wash all my sins away
Ever since by faith I saw the stream Your flowing wounds supplied
Redeeming love has been my theme and shall be till I die
Keeping watch while the whole world
sleeps (Listen close)
Feel the earth toss and turn and weep (Hear its voice)
A wearied ground opens up to roar (Hear it roar)
"How much longer will this pain endure?"
We're waiting for a better day
The shadows gone, all things pass away
Listen close and hear it say
"We're cursed and we're dying"
Hills shake and mountains quake (Mountains shaking)
Earth's fires have come awake
No words, but hear it speak (Hear it speaking)
As the deep calls to the deep
Beauty, beauty mixed with dread
Hanging by a thread
We're waiting for a better day
The shadows gone, all things pass away
Listen close and hear it say
"We're cursed and we're dying"
Skies wake, the heavens ache (Heavens aching)
Thunder and lightning break
O glory come, come like a thief (Like a thief)
Bring us relief from grief
Still on and on, we're waiting for the hour
On an on, our cries are growing louder
How long must darkness reign in a world so violent (So violent)
While we toss and turn in pain, in vain, and it's still so silent
Waiting, wait for what's ahead
These tattered rags will be shed
We're waiting for a better day
The shadows gone, all things pass away
Listen and hear it say
"We're cursed and we're dying"
Hills shake and mountains quaking
The earth's fires have now awaken
No words, but hear it speak
"We're cursed and we're dying"
"We're cursed and we're dying"
(We're cursed and we're dying)
Prisoned am I to this shell of the dust
It speaks of only fiction that I could never trust
Captured alive in this sinful estate
Vexed am I to see I do the things that I hate
Rip out the framework leave no stone unturned
Until my heart forgets all that my flesh ever learned
Tear down the structure till nothing is left
God deliver me from this body of death
O wretched man, wretched man that I am
Lowly man, who can save such a wretch that I am?
Who can save such a man?
O wretched man, wretched man that I am
Lowly man, who can save such a wretch that I am?
Who can save such a man?
In light of this truth: "There is no good in me"
It causes all my soul to long for liberty
Be freed from my lies of death, spared from the shame
No more this sinner's breath forsaking your name
I will be free
I will be free
I will, I will be free
Freed from my lies of death, spared from the shame
No more this sinner's breath forsaking your name
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa
O blessed man, blessed man that I am
Lowly man! You have saved such a wretch that I am
Blessed man that I am, lowly man!
You have saved such a man!
Barely alive, but who'd believe it
I'm living clean, but my heart is defiled
Barely alive, but who'd believe it
I bear a heart of stone
Yeah
I look alive but the inside is something worse
Fooling all with the right deeds and nice words
I'm feeding lies and my heart doesn't feel the remorse
Fooling all with the rights deeds and nice words
Buried alive, but who could see it?
My heart is numb but I'm just in denial
Buried alive, but who could see it?
I wear a dead man's bones
Don't be nervous to face the truth that
you're not fine, you never were
So don't be frightened to see the Light
when you open up your eyes
Washed in the blood or just in the water?
Oh how white you have washed your tomb
Washed in the blood or just in the water?
Hiding death inside its womb
I look alive but the inside is something worse
Fooling all with the right deeds and nice words
Barely alive, but who'd believe it
I wear a dead man's bones
Don't be nervous to face the truth that
you're not fine, you never were
So don't be frightened to see the Light
when you open up your eyes
Washed in the blood or just in the water?
Oh how clean you have washed your tomb
Washed in the blood or just in the water?
Hiding death inside its womb
Don't be nervous to face the truth that
you're not fine, you never were
So don't be frightened to see the Light
when you open up your eyes
When you open up your eyes, you'll find that you're lost as hell
When you open up your eyes, don't fear you'll be fine
When your words touched my heart
(You opened up my eyes)
It ripped straight through my bones and tore my pride apart
I spoke not a word (And death inside me dies)
For the claims I had made were revealed to be absurd
When you opened up my eyes I was shaking and trembling
Then you told me to "Arise! Don't fear you'll be fine"
Don't be nervous to face the truth
that you're not fine, you never were
So don't be frightened to see the Light
when you open up your eyes
Now I'm alive, would you believe it?
My heart is clean though it was so defiled
Now I'm alive, would you believe it?
Inside these broken bones
I know who you are, you wanted to be perfect
In all that you were, but you bailed, you bailed
I know who you are, you wanted to be worth it
In all that you were, but you failed, you failed
Kill all the lights, you fear what's inside
Cover your eyes, I'm trying to run and to hide in shadows
Filling the void with just a veneer
Watching your steps and hoping that I don't come near
Don't follow
I know you thought, you thought you'd never need it
But you cannot hide behind all your claims, your claims
Guilt is now the anchor pulling, dragging your head under
Drowning deeper down below
Fear is just a false claim, vanity has locked the irons
Sinking faster, heart is hollow
Show me your sorrow my love
This burden is the milestone 'round your neck
Convalesce and I will bear, bear your shame
The voice of hell screams and roars
Of what has been done
Tens of thousands and countless more
Yet I'll remember not one
You know who I am, I wanted to be perfect
In all that I am, but I failed, I failed
Would you walk in darkness just to find a broken rebel?
Crippled legs won't find their way
Could you look upon my blackened soul
I've wrecked and ruined
How could see me without clean hands or a pure heart?
Show me your sorrow my love
This burden is the milestone 'round your neck
Convalesce and I will bear, bear your shame, every stain
Bear your shame, every stain
You should send me away,
I've been such a liar
With the strongest of words, but weakest desire
But look at me now, I'm reaching much higher
I'm trying so hard, but quickly I tire
(When will it be enough?)
So often I see your beauty surrounding me
(But find my way out)
What's wrong with my heart? This friction of bound and free
(That fills light with doubt)
When will it be enough to know just grace and stop chasing the wind?
(Stop chasing the wind)
I tried to be wise with foolish volition
(Working to earn my place)
Oh how I was bold, but ignored my condition
(Forgetting "all of grace")
I feel the push and the pulls as it all tears me apart
I'm tripping over my pride, what's wrong with my heart?
I feel the push and the pulls as it all tears me apart
I'm tripping over my pride, what's wrong with my heart?
When will it be enough to know just grace and stop chasing the wind?
(Oh how much I've sinned!)
So often I see the darkness that's found in me
(But clinch my eyes shut)
My guilt will agree, I drown in the deepest sea
(The deepest sea)
Yet how could this be? I've been such a liar
Who's got nothing to give and none you require
How could I forget? Your ways are much higher
(I couldn't afford mercy)
Declaring to me your love doesn't tire
(You must be everything)
You've taken my curse and all that I've squandered
(There's nothing that I could bring)
That despite all my flaws and how far I've wandered
(You've given everything!)
You're longing to show your mercy, mercy
My weakness reveals your beauty
You're longing to show your mercy, mercy
My weakness reveals your beauty
As I drift on the water, a voice calling to me had said
"Sail into the harbor, cast down your nets and follow Me"
First of all the chosen, I saw the raising of the dead
It must be my devotion, for I stood alone upon that sea
So I walked on the tempest, I saw the waves below my feet
It's clear I was the bravest, to meet the stranger on the deep
I am the rock on which to build this land
Got the keys to the kingdom, I'm at His right hand
I was the first among the chosen, the boldest in devotion
Walking out upon the ocean, what else could I need?
I'm well-versed in forgiveness, as many as seven times repeat
In service was I fearless; attack my king, my blade you'd reap
What else could I need?
What else could I need?
Haunting my reflection, a bitter thought comes to my mind
I made known my objection, about how you had come to die
You said my thoughts were of the devil's kind
I was opposed to your kingdom, and I should get behind
But you were talking like you're cursed,
already laying in your deathbed
Maybe somehow you were mislead, may it never be!
You said I would fall away, before the rooster's crow would end
To my shame did I betray, deny you as my closest friend
I'm singing, heart is hardened
I'm sleeping in the garden
I'm swinging swords I'm guarding my kingdom and my stardom
Am I different than Judas? For I betrayed the kindest friend
I'm all out of excuses, with nothing to make my amends
O love! O love! O love!
You bottomless abyss!
O love! O love! O love!
You bottomless abyss!
How tender you had spoken, though I betrayed the kindest friend
Faithful in devotion, such love I cannot comprehend
Oh when you found me I was broken
From the words that I had spoken
But you were faithful in devotion
You remembered me!
You remembered me!
I awoke, the ground was hard and barely broke
The air was filled with morning's smoke
The hours fly by so I work
There's bound to be wealth in this dirt
The heart of the earth holds the key
Where all my troubles will flee
So I dig, and I dig, and I dig
Cause I can't find another way, I'll dig
You say that you are dying to live
(But at this pace your life you'll give)
Death always gets the best of us
(And then abandons to the dust)
Your work and toil leave only room
(For coffins, graves, and deathly tombs)
Your work and toil leave only room
(For coffins, graves, and deathly tombs)
Dig, and you dig, and you dig, and you dig
And you must see my friend there's another way
I'll capture this life in my cold hands
I'll make it fulfill all my demands
I'll rip from the earth, the treasures it will bring
And crown myself as a conquering king
Tell me now what you have found
Digging in the earth's cold ground
Working with such vigor
It's all foul and bitter
Tell me now what you have found
Digging in the earth's cold ground
Working with such vigor
All I see a grave digger
So you spoke, and all that you said was a joke
On all of your words you will choke
You told me "I'm so very lost, and that I could have joy without cost"
So I'll dig, and I'll dig, and I'll dig, and I'll dig
Cause I don't really care what you say, I'll dig
A haunting voice demands and craves
(That in its depths a body lays)
I feel its cry inside my soul
("That I could never fill this hole")
My work and toil leave only room
(For coffins, graves, and deathly tombs)
My work and toil leave only room
(For coffins, graves, and deathly tombs)
My pride wrapped me tight and it laid me down to sleep
Telling me all that I build and find I keep
All that I made was a terrible cold grave
In death here I laid is there any way to save my soul?
Dig, and I dig, and I dig
Dig, and I dig, and I dig
Will my body fill this grave?
Tell me now what you have found
Digging in the earth's cold ground
Working with such vigor
It's all foul and bitter
Tell me now what you have found
Digging in the earth's cold ground
Working with such vigor
All I see a grave digger
How wondrous the sight that had caused these eyes to weep
All of my death and hell you would bear and reap
Though all that I made was a terrible cold grave
In death there you laid, for you took my place to save my soul
To save my soul
To save my soul
To save my soul
